Activism

We know that some of you are keen to connect with activitist groups who are addressing the causes you feel strongly about. Whilst Northumberlandland Green Hub remains an apolitical and non-activist network, we can provide resources for members to follow up. This page provides an overview of the activism groups we’ve found and their contact details. We will update it regularly.

Tipping Point UK is a non-hierarchical organisation supporting grassroots groups working for climate, gender, racial, and social justice. Their goal is to create a “tipping point” for climate justice. Tipping Point UK’s team has decades of experience supporting grassroots groups and helped build some of the biggest climate campaigns of the last decade.

Tipping Point UK’s work includes:

  • Organising Tools: Providing a FREE“Tech Hub” of organizing tools for grassroots groups and networks to use.
  • Network Hubs: We help your group connect with, learn from, share resources and act collectively with others working for justice around the UK and globally.
  • Training: We provide training, resources, microgrants and digital tools to help groups innovate and experiment in taking bigger, bolder and more sustained action together. We run training in everything you need to know to grow your group, engage new people, build local power and win strategic campaigns.
  • Support: We offer advice, mentoring, grants, tactical support and materials to help you organise bigger and bolder climate actions with your community. Let us know how we can support you.

The Climate Majority Project : Aims to help a majority of people in the UK who care about climate change to understand that they are powerful together, and take meaningful action, relevant to themselves and their communities. As well as ‘practical’ action, we advocate the importance of cultures of support, political inclusivity and resilience: to help us face the trouble we’re in together.

Incubation : The CMP Incubator : Supports promising initiatives organising citizen action in communities, workplaces and professions to grow, find further funding, and build their networks.

Targeted campaigns : We’re working to drive Government response to climate realities, and advocating for the resilience measures needed to cope collectively with global crises.
