Consultation on Green Spaces

As part of its Environmental Policy Statement, Northumberland County Council has made several commitments to support Nature Recovery & Biodiversity, including reviewing its own land management and grounds maintenance practices to identify opportunities to support nature recovery and biodiversity whilst maintaining an attractive and safe environment.

They have recently announced a project titled Supporting Nature in our Green Spaces’ which entails reviewing grounds maintenance arrangements to identify how they can better support nature recovery and improved biodiversity in public green spaces.

As part of this, a community conversation is being launched to reach all stakeholders (residents, businesses, Town and Parish Councillors, County Councillors and staff) to understand what are viewed as priorities for shared public spaces and how they are maintained.
