Coquet River Action Group (CRAG) is nearly a year old. The group has been regularly testing water quality along the Coquet since April last year. With nearly 40 locations, testing is taking place from the upper part of the river all the way to the coast, together with several key burns.
The results are showing that the river is generally in good health, although there are a few specific concerns that will be investigated further, such as high than expected levels of nitrates and phosphates.

More work is planned for the coming year, including E.coli testing and applying for Bathing Water Status at Little Shore in Amble.
